MODULE 1

YIN IMMERSION

- 20 hour yin course - aspirants participate for free

Yin & Yang theory

​

It is on our Intro weekends that we review the 22 key positions in Yin yoga, as well as examine the Taoist principles that underlie this style of yoga. In interaction with movement on the yoga mat itself, we compliment the knowledge of the traditional western-rooted anatomy with the eastern approach containing the more yoga-specific body concepts such as Chakra theory and energy pathways (Nadi). We also examine how the use of props and aids can be used, for example, in the event of injuries, disease or pregnancy. It is also in module 1 that we go on "holiday" in the heat and learn about HOT yoga and how it is combined with Yin.

MODULE 2

Introduction to the 8 branched yoga path we follow in the lineage of Power Yoga.

​

We deep dive to the root of yoga, read relevant texts, such as the Bhagavad Ghita and Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, and examine what yoga actually is; yogic philosophy, yogic lifestyle and ethics etc. Yogic concepts such as Karma and Dharma will also be introduced and explained. Along the way, we will of course get all the principles we learn thoroughly in the body with lots of physical yoga teaching, and learn about the meaning and use of Bandhas and Drishti


Yoga anatomy and yoga physiology as well as "hands-on assist" and considerations

The theoretical material is tested and felt as far as possible in one's own body, and we are introduced to traditional Western-rooted anatomy, as well as the more yoga-specific body concepts Chakra, Vayu and Kosha. The supportive use of tools and how best to assist your students with these are explored, as well as how we work with injuries, illnesses, challenges and pregnant women/after birth.

The role of the yoga teacher


Here the focus is on the profession of yoga teacher itself. We go on the floor and look at concrete tools regarding the use of theme, music and voice, composition of flows and programs, and at the same time we will learn about presentation, dissemination and communication. The module will also offer teaching on taking care of your students with relevant warm-up/cool-down and preparation, appropriate adjustment and assistance using both hands and verbal guidance, preparation etc., as well as teaching on how to take care of ourselves as a teacher (definitionof the role, the many hats of a yoga teacher, psychological self-defense, etc.)

Yoga anatomy and yoga physiology 

​

The theoretical material is tested and felt as far as possible in one's own body, and we dive in depth with the more yoga-specific body concepts Chakra, Vayu and Kosha as well as the yoga medicine system: Ayurveda. The difference between the Eastern reductionist way of thinking and the prevailing philosophy in the West is examined and related, and we meet ways of thinking such as Taoism.

BUSINESS OF YOGA

Summary, Exams & life after education
 
In this last module, the subject "The Business of Yoga" is introduced; how to establish yourself and run a business as a yoga teacher in an ethical and yogically sound manner. The module offers the opportunity to delve deeper into and/or refresh topics of particular interest and topicality. Concludes with a practical and written subject test (optional, but included in the price and necessary for certification).
